10th June 2007 - The Quay, Exeter

As ever Exeter provided the weather and some great racing

We put in good solid performance in the first race to just edge out Raging Dragons for the 1st time this season

A great result which meant no rep, straight to the Semi's, so a nice long rest

The Semi saw Raging Dragons beaten again, this must be hurting!

Final 200metre race to decide 7th - 9th places and yet again we meet Raging Dragons

Can we do the hat trick? Not yet! so 8th in the 200's not bad.

So onto the 500's and yet again we are up against Raging dragons, OK now we will get that hat trick?

No a good solid race but 2nd put us into the rep with Worcester in a 2 boater doing enough 2 win and take us into a semi

against, yes you guessed it Raging Dragons, with Kingston in the middle.

Are we going to beat Kingston, probably not, are we up for getting a good time and getting into the minor final, you bet we are

and there's that hat trick to be had.

Kingston stormed off the line and immediately we were having to deal with their dirty water, and then our helm

(who shall remain nameless, ok it was me!) fell off their wash and took a right turn we stopped before the wall! and finally came in a

distant 3rd. Incidentally Kingston's race report, which you can find on their website, has interesting take on this incident

I could sue for defamation of character.... or could I!

So we come to the final race of the day and, yes, you guessed it, Raging Dragons again with Worcester in lane 1

This time we are going to get that hat trick, do we want it?, you bet we do.

A storming start saw us flying down the course neck and neck with RD, the whole crew working together like clockwork,

We are holding them, we can do this, RD can't believe it, they go for a dig and we are still their, Emma calls for the line early

and we all respond with every last ounce of strength we have, over the line and we've done it, what a fantastic race and what a result

Several seconds faster than our previous best but more importantly we WON.

The whole team is buzzing, that was the best we have raced in a long time, well done to everyone

That includes childminders and supporters, and those who had to sit out the last race, sorry guys, but at least you got to see it!

and a whopping great 15 points in the bag, thats our best result since this points system was introduced 2 and a bit seasons ago

Well done guys, Nottingham here we come!.
